Two months after the #Karabakh war began, a short summary of the human toll. It's not complete. There are still many missing. Official civilian toll is 93 on AZ side, 54 on ARM side. These include at least 10 children, whose names UNICEF gives here. https://www.unicef.org/press-releases/unicef-statement-one-month-fighting-and-beyond-nagorno-karabakh
An estimate here of Armenian military death toll at 2,520. Remember that the Karabakh Armenian population is maximum 150,000, so if 1/5 or 1/4 of those who died are Karabakhis that is 300 or 400 young men. Every family there has lost someone.

AZ has yet to release a military death toll. Many say that as they were the attacking side their numbers will be higher. Radio Liberty has an awful report here of desperate families struggling to trace and identify their dead. https://www.rferl.org/a/azerbaijan-families-seek-missing-soldiers-nagorno-karabakh/30968905.html
Let's recall that the majority of the military dead are young conscript soldiers. It's poignant for me to reflect that many of these boys were not even born when I was doing the research for my book on the Karabakh conflict in 2000-2001.
Finally, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says that 293 Syrians died fighting on the AZ side. For whatever reason they came they're also people. Also: in most wars there are 3 wounded for every 1 killed. The wounds of this war will last long. https://www.syriahr.com/en/192201/?__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=a143dffbf7ebd42bfd09b1bb7047e8eb142e2498-1606210654-0-Ae8uLcBTblhO_wBJTR120JWolj7UkVphcTsDqK8KpkLO-vtgaZMSbx8hxoGOkekICmZhSmp2D6lU185AC_btSQirKTwnMA-58FpnzXXXTXfFKlXFipjlstw9fGslzwgcqkRGLsVsiRCuBMH0z0n19t4eyrTT3yYz41sEnZ3e_wpbrHPxZOWSHU6Srbumao_dOybKU8QKyptQIq26ologr0FjI9Fn-ROjuTI5QHW2BvpGv7cUw5CoZGGfjtwu73fw0N5oGty6uWBNdiaqJ-GAy14gCf0Vd7KSVXd7ITMdCbPUt1bvgQw9zp93QLnf6Jbr4w
