We're gutted that Bristol's Covid rates are Tier 2 in December, we have been dreaming of seeing people at real events at some of our favourite theatres this festive season. Our AD @miss_knee goes to several Christmas shows every year. Here's some of her faves...

First up is @tftheatres's The Borrowers with a script by @bea_roberts and music by @DavidRidley1123. What a stunner of a show, directed by Nik Partridge, it was glorious. It also featured the amazing @PetaMaurice, @craigedwards54 & @ellie_showering!

You can't mention excellent Christmas shows without also mentioning @tftheatres & @tl_theatre's Cinderella. Gorgeous. The ever brilliant Sally Cookson directed this, it also featured @craigedwards54, glorious music by Benji Bower, writing by @adzpeck & designer @katiesykes001.

We promise not every show we mention will involve Sally Cookson, but we bloody love her. So we will also mention @BristolOldVic's Peter Pan. Some of the catchiest tunes known to man were written by Benji Bower for this show. Also it featured Felix Hayes and @AhamedSaikat.

Also we watched @Little_Bulb's many shows at @BristolOldVic, & we loved their Christmas shows for little ones. Our favourite was definitely Antartica with the Owlarbear. But The Night That Autumn Turned To Winter also ROCKS. You don't have to be a child to love these shows.

Also we always travel to @theeggbath for their brilliant Christmas shows. We particularly loved Rapunzel last year, look at that set by @RLVize. We loved the nerdy awkward romance between the Rapunzel and the Prince. And @DavidRidley1123's music!

We also loved the sheer amazingness of @pinsandneedles0 Little Mermaid a few years back. @bea_roberts smashed the script and it was an explosion of brilliant design and epic storytelling. We are looking forward to their next Christmas show.

Another younger show we loved was @WardrobEnsemble Little Tim and the Brave Sea Captain @BristolOldVic. It was gorgeous and funny and fast paced and had beautiful songs. BRING IT BACK!

Ok I think we're done with the family shows. Now.. the rude ones...

Of course @WardrobeTheatre always smashes out the park with their bizarre, filthy pantos. We've loved them all but our faves in particular are Reservoir Mogs, Drac and Jill, Oedipus in Boots, The Rocky Shock & Goldilockstock. We could go on.
