Today @KellyIpsosMORI will be joining @KensingtonRoyal with the Duchess of Cambridge to explain the results of the study we’ve undertaken for the Royal Foundation into the vitally important topic of the early years https://twitter.com/kensingtonroyal/status/1332113087084826624
"With the largest ever open survey with over a half million responses and beyond, this is the most comprehensive research ever undertaken about #TheEarlyYears. The evidence is clear, the first 5 years are absolutely fundamental for a child's development."- @KellyIpsosMORI
"Parents and general society in the UK, recognise nurture is a key driver, not just genetics in children's development. Results show they perceive nurture shapes the future health and happiness for children, with an overwhelming majority in responses." - @KellyIpsosMORI
" #TheEarlyYears and the period in the first two years is when the brain is developing the fastest for children. Parents recognise the first two years as significantly important for their child’s development." - @KellyIpsosMORI
"One key finding has been around judgement. Nearly half of parents perceive they have felt judged by other parents. This judgement makes it harder for parents to ask for help & support with their children." - @KellyIpsosMORI
"Family & friends do come on top for parents when seeking additional support for their children, and they do want support. The study has shone a light on the fragility of parent's support networks, as #COVID19 has made life much tougher for parents." - @KellyIpsosMORI
"Parents have been separated from their usual local support networks due to #COVID19. The increase in loneliness for parents is more apparent in the most deprived areas; these parents are more than twice as likely to say they feel lonely often or always." - @KellyIpsosMORI
"Support networks can be very small and many of these parents (33%) report that the number of people in their network has decreased since they have had children. This highlights the potential vulnerability of many parents at times of stress." - @KellyIpsosMORI
"There have been some glimpses of light during this time, with communities coming together to support parents. 4 out of 10 parents perceive that their local community has come together to support them during the #Coronavirus pandemic." - @KellyIpsosMORI
