One thing I will not be doing from here on in is callouts or activism work within the #brony fandom. I'm through with this.

Someone recently made a purposefully misleading statement like "Tinker said an abuse victim is worse than the abuser". This makes it sound like I'm saying "when someone is abused, they are more guilty than the abuser". And that is not what I said at all. That would be abhorrent.
What I said was "If you're willing to kill random people for Thanksgiving dinner, it would make you worse than your abuser." I said they'd be worse for being willing to literally let people die. The "letting people die" is the bad part. This was purposefully obscured to smear me.
But it was depicted, over and over, as "Tinker said an abuse victim is worse than their abuser". Which isn't what I believe.
What I believed is that *killing people* is worse than abuse.
This was intentionally obscured to attack me, and it worked.

This is far from the first time such intentional twisting and use of out-of-context sentences and phrasing has been used to attack me, to grossly misrepresent my beliefs and my words.

I said, to one very specific victim of abuse, "if you are willing to kill strangers, it will— for the first time in your life— make you worse than your abuser."

But that is not what people have been screaming about on Twitter. My words have been intentionally distorted to make me look like a victim-blaming monster who thinks that victims are somehow responsible for their own abuse.

Selective quoting and twisting words is a common tactic of both the 4chan/8chan/kiwifarms alt-right crowd and some of the more shrill Tumblr leftists (and the overlap between those groups is more porous than you may think).
It's a tactic that's been used against me many times.

And I'm done opening myself up for being a punching-bag, for having my words willfully distorted and weaponised against me, by being involved in the politics of brony fandom.
Bronydom is full of alt-right chuds, cryptofascists, & outright nazi apologists.

My post calling out Gabe for reposting white supremacist memes about "white slavery" and "white people being attacked for being white"— which did not distort his words in the slightest— got less than half as many retweets, and around the same number of likes... in over two weeks.
There's an old saying that goes something like "A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on".

All it takes, for me, is one bad turn of phrase.

But it's remarkable that this has somehow gotten more traction, far faster, than "BlackGryph0n spreads white supremacist ideas".

All the while, I've been trying, without any luck, to get con orgs in the #brony fandom to denounce BlackGryph0n for spreading white supremacist talking points.
I am through fighting losing battles against genuine evil, while I'm pilloried for every poorly chosen talking point.

I'm through having my words and ideas twisted and having people tell dozens or hundreds or thousands of followers that I believe things I don't believe, or dogpiling me over one ill-chosen talking point when my core point is utterly benign ("don't kill people for Thanksgiving").
You are free to believe whatever you want. You can think "Tinker hates abuse victims" all you want. It won't make it true, but you're free to think it. What I hate is people hurting or killing other people.

These people do not want to engage with me. They do not want to improve me. They just want to form a hate mob to bash me.
