I'm not @mrgirish but I'm going to talk to you about Shankar Ganesh, too!
Shankar is one of the best product people I know. And that's not because he's an expert at SaaS product strategy or knows metrics in-and-out or can run cohort analyses like a pro. https://twitter.com/_shankarganesh/status/1332195120804859904

He can do all that, I'm sure, but the reason I think Shankar is a fantastic product person is because he embodies why people like me and him are in Product: To really really solve problems for users, create a ton of value for them, and try to capture a teeny weeny bit of that...
... for business wins. And if that sounds like a generic job description for a PM/founder, it's because it is. But I'm also painfully aware of how rare this user centricity is. The reality of a product org is that it's almost always a fight b/w features and priorities and teams.
The voices and pains of the users are usually lost. This is the reason why good products are so rare, and why people like Shankar are so, so precious. When you talk to him about a user problem, you hear the angst of a user. You see Shankar pained because of it.
And the funny part is, this pain could just be a copy issue. A misplaced comma or a suboptimal word. But the pain is real. :) This is why I enjoy every single conversation with him. And that's why, while they are not many or frequent, when they do happen, they go on for hours!
Good luck for all that lies ahead after Freshworks, Shankar. Any product org would be grateful for your presence in their midst!
