My father lay dying in a South Louisiana hospital. He developed pneumonia a month ago. Respiratory and cardiac failure now. Pulmonary embolisms. Our family said goodbye to him today via FaceTime. Lots of tears. He had Covid 3-4 months ago and we’ve been told by medical staff ...
that it’s very likely his lungs/heart were weakened from Covid resulting in his condition. He won’t be listed as a Covid death, even though it likely started the domino effect.

Nurses brought Covid into his nursing home. Few wear masks in his town; many believe Covid is nothing.
I’ll write more about him and his life soon. Still processing all this. Grieving deeply. He went down fast after contracting Covid in late July. One bad thing after another after that. His life mattered, though. My sister is with him now. I’m waiting for the final call.
Praying for guidance, for miracles, for God to have his way, for my Dad to be guarded by God’s peace and love now. Humanly, there is no hope. But, I also know that healing ultimately comes in the next life too. Settling into God’s care tonight and entrusting my father to Jesus.
