Tigist Belay, 19 died in Feb, 2019. Even though her report said, "died by suicide", her sponsors said that she died from drinking poison. Just like this many women die with their stories not being told properly. 2/n #AbolishKafala

Another victim of the Kafala system is our sister Desta. Desta worked for 14 months without pay, was never allowed to leave the house and was physically abused. Many domestic workers are victims of this Kafala system. Abolish kafala system! 3/n

Agere Mandefro passed away at the age of 17 in 2019. Due to work load and lack of proper meal, Agere was got sick. Her employer never took her for treatment but was giving her unprescribed medicine. They sent her back home on a wheelchair & she passed away after two days. 4/n

So many women are trafficked to countries like Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq and elsewhere. Remember these sisters, their tragic deaths is why we need to #abolishkafala now. 5/n
