I’ve met tons of teachers over the years who are woke AF and can’t teach a lick. Please don’t use revolutionary rhetoric to mask your lack of pedagogical skills, uninformed practices, and lazy instruction.

If your rhetoric doesn’t improve achievement - the students and yours, you’re just yappin’ which is easy

The most revolutionary thing to be is a great teacher and Educator. And, trust me I love great rhetoric. I love literate and numerate Black & Brown children even more. #DontHideBehindRhetoric

I rarely the so-called “woke boat” preach rhetoric about deep content knowledge, instructional coaching, reflection, revising, feedback loops, effective questioning, data analysis, literacy research, student outcomes, etc. Organize ‘round that too, yaw.

We need a whole lot of things, & we must continue to fight for them, but please fight for great teacher prep & great instruction as well. Tell me what you gonna do. Naw, show me what yaw are gonna do. #LiberatingEducation #EDJustice
