For example, Jack Kemp hid his membership from his public life, and didn't include his affiliation in his Congressional Directory bio or his CV. But, Buffalo News reported in 86 that he was a member of the Palmoni Lodge of Perfection, 14th Degree; Palmoni Council, Princes of
Jerusalem, 16th degree; Buffalo Chapter of Rose Croix, 18th degree, & Buffalo Consistory, 32nd Degree. Buffalo News, 10/16/86. Then in Sept 1987, The Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite of the Northern Jurisdiction singled him out to received the 33rd Degree in Boston.
That's one guy, and a "republican" at that. And that's not even considering the presidents ...
