A COVID story.. Part 1. A special needs class has numerous staff off sick. So naturally staff from all DIFFERENT cohorts get pulled from their classrooms to help cover for the short staffed unit. First problem, MIXING cohorts, 2nd problem regular staff taken away from their own.
Part 2... assignments. Staff members are moved around numerous times, then a a staff member is found to test COVID positive. Some staff who were in contact with said staff remained at work...this staff member would fall ill and have a false negative test so remained at work...
Part 3... staff went home tuesday. The unit was closed by the end of the week. (False negative staff tested positive after class was closed) 6 Additional staff from different areas were brought into this room. Those staff were deemed not to be at risk. Now 4 days later...
Numerous staff were sent home now being considered high risk, putting numerous classes, students, teachers, and family members at risk. This is a dangerous way to run schools. There needs to be a better way for tracing and tracking with out putting 100 of people at risk
Now numerous staff are sitting at home waiting for test results. It seems like this could have been avoided, people don't know how crazy it is in the schools right now. Staff and students are all over cohorts. #COVID19Ontario #COVID19 #FordfailedOntario #FireLecce #onted
