The ethanol came today...
We'll winterize our blueberry muffin bho, a bit later today...

First...
We need to weigh how much wax we have to winterize, so we know how much alcohol to pour out... I'm using 15 ml per gram, roughly... Gonna put this on warm water bath until its all dissolved in... Then its into the freezer, so the undesirables can freeze

Prep the straining jar with a brown coffee filter... I used the dab tool to stir, helps it move along faster... Pop both in freezer for at least a few hours... Let the coagulation begin...

After we filter, i fitted a silicone mat into a small bowl to create a bit of a dish that I can pour the liquid into without it spilling out... Sitting on a heating pad, this will warm purge most the liquid out. Then we can place mat back in our ole trusty vacuum chamber...

Jyst a couple hours later and u can see the coagulation and separation.... I think i wanna give it another hour and see if it'll make a difference...

Fell asleep.... So well call it overnight...
Looks reachy to go.... I like to pour it and let it filter inside freezer, as if you let it warm back up then we lose the separation... Pour it thru the coffee filter, i also like to prime the filter with a bit of freezing alcohol

Im still learning.... Don't screw on lid of filter jar too tight*... Creates suction, would not go down.... Lost a bit... See if we can recover

Perhaps this will be the pour setup next time.... A little sloppy.. We should be able to recover most of whats in the filter... Strain it out with a bit of alcohol... Then purge and vac pump the alcohol away....

Now Im thinking cutting the extra filter around edges is a good idea.... I dont remember this coming up b4.... Oh well....
