I feel so weird about the ongoing discourse around comic twitters’ favorite spaceman - one the one hand, I genuinely think dude has a heart in the right place, and I do think there’s value in speaking out about the bad behavior of the industry without fear of breaking ties.
But the energy is so wildly and aggressively misaimed, to the point that it’s clearly just harassment of people with little to no power to affect change.

Like, random creators, even those at the top of the industry, don’t really have a ton of control from what I can tell.
(Just for instance, you can’t actually do anything about your coworker being an ass on Twitter, in the same way you couldn’t at any other job.

For another instance, you can’t as a writer get your choice of artist on flagship books regardless of feelings)
So what do you do here? I’m seen people genuinely try with this guy, and it sometimes works - but not for long. Do you keep trying? Do you give up and just dunk? Do you block and move on?

There’s gotta be some way to help, right?
Because right now, his stuff is a big representation of what creators see when they see people on here that want change. And while I don’t think they should ignore pushes for change, if that’s the type of voice they see the most, I do understand.
So either you redirect his energy or you find a more active way to communicate with creators (that’s not harassment nor ignorable) I guess?

I dunno. Just feel like there has to be some better way.
Didn’t realize they might be non-binary and if so apologies for any misgendering - just because someone’s an ass doesn’t mean you can’t respect their gender https://mobile.twitter.com/gpp2099/status/1331037502577254403
