I've started opening Zoom class 5-10 mins early, playing music & slam poetry videos until 5-10 mins after the official start time. Ss are showing up early & are very active in the chat. This has entirely shifted the overall dynamic of convos in this class for the better. (1/3)
I'm so glad that experiencing waiting music for a webinar made me realize how much that time could help me transition mentally into that space of learning & dialogue so that I could pass along that gift to my Ss and our overall learning community. (2/3)
We cover more material and have better, richer, deeper conversations than we've ever had leading up to this shift. And best of all: no wall of silent black boxes! I only wish I had done this sooner. (3/3) #LangChat
