Why "COULD'NT DO IN THE PREM" is one of the biggest myths on FT - a small Thread👇

Please retweet this, I never want to read this myth again😅

All of the following 12 examples played in "farmers leagues" before changing to the Premier League, where they adapted very well.🧐🚜
1. Kevin De Bruyne

After an astonishing season 2014/15 with VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga (10g + 21a), De Bruyne went to Manchester City (76 mil € fee).
At City he quickly evolved to the best CAM in the world (58g + 96a in 233 games)
He won PL Player of the season in 2020.🏆
2. Bruno Fernandes

After several good seasons with Sporting Lissabon in the Liga Nos (63g + 52a in 137 games), Fernandes headed towards ManUnited in winter 19/20 (55 mio € fee)

He instantly had an enormous impact, scoring 19 and assisting 13 in his first 34 games for United.😯
3. Mo Salah

After a few good seasons with AS Roma in Serie A (34g + 22a in 83 games) Salah went to Liverpool. Here he suddenly blew up and evolved into one of the best.
So far he scored 104 and assisted 42 in just 165 games and won PL POTS (17/18) and golden boot (17/18+18/19)
4. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang turned into a world class striker at Dortmund in Bundesliga (141g + 36a in 213 games).

He went to Arsenal in winter 2018, where he adapted very well and continued his great form (74g + 16a in 120 games), with getting PL top scorer 2018/19
5. Heung-Min Son

Son scored 41 and assisted 10 in 135 Bundesliga games for Leverkusen + Hamburg, which is why many called him a flop after his 30 mil€ change to Spurs in 2015.
However Son proved everyone wrong, he quickly became one of the best players in PL (96g + 52a in 243)
6. Vincent Kompany

Kompany played for Hamburg in Bundesliga before going to Manchester City in 2008.
For City he played 265 games and turned into one of the best defenders worldwide. He was Captain for City between 2011 and 2019.🇧🇪
7. James Rodriguez

After having hard seasons for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich with many injuries, James decided to leave Real towards Everton into Premier League in 2020.
So far he settled in perfectly, scoring 3 and assisting 3 in his first 8 games.🇨🇴
8. Edin Dzeko

After phenomenal seasons with Wolfsburg in Bundesliga, Dzeko went to ManCity in 2011.
At City he did very well, scoring 72 and assisting 39 in 189 games.🇧🇦
9. Bobby Firmino

Firmino went to Liverpool in 2015, after very strong seasons for Hoffenheim in Bundesliga.
At Liverpool he evolved into a top class striker, being the ideal partner for Mane and Salah.
Despite his recent form crisis he is overall one who adapted very well in PL
10. N'Golo Kante

Kante arrived at Premier League in 2015, coming from a second division team in France (SM Caen).
At Leicester he instantly got into the starting XI and was a key figure in the surprising title win.
He blew up and turned into one of the best CDMs in the world.🇫🇷
11. Mesut Özil

Since Real had to sell Özil to get money for a Bale transfer,
Özil went to Arsenal in 2013.
He worked very well in Premier League , scoring 44 and assisting 77 in 254 games.
In the 2015/16 season managed to get 19 assists, which almost broke Henry's record.
12. Bernardo Silva

Silva came to ManCity in 2017, after very good seasons with Monaco in Ligue 1.
He first had minor problems in PL, but he then he adapted very well and evolved to a world class attacking midfielder or winger.
These 12 examples are only examples, there are plenty more players that went to PL and adapted very well.

Please note that I don't want to "downgrade" the standing of the Premier League. 🤝

Also I am aware of the fact that there are other examples as well (e.g. di Maria).🧐
In my opinion, wether a player adapts well in a League depends from many things:

He must fit into the teams system, must be comfortable in his new City/ Country/ Club, needs the right physical form and many, many more.....
❗️Overall it does NOT depend, wether its the Premier League or not.
Every good player in a top 5 league CAN be a good player in PL as well. ❗️
