Humanity, just 0.01% of all Earth's life, has wiped out 83% of all wild mammals and half of all plants.
70% of all birds left are poultry chickens or other farmed birds.
60% of all mammals in the world are livestock, 4% are wild.

Most deforestation, which is a leading driver of wildlife destruction, happens due to the demand for animal products. The more meat, dairy, and eggs that people eat, the more wildlife and habitat get destroyed. This destruction hastens climate change, too. https://sentientmedia.org/how-does-agriculture-cause-deforestation/
All of the loss of wildlife and their habitats, combined with climate change, is also hastening the sixth mass extinction of life as we know it on Earth.
This relates to humanity as if the food web collapses, so does our civilization.
We're quite close. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/jun/01/sixth-mass-extinction-of-wildlife-accelerating-scientists-warn

Climate change, overfishing, and other human-driven oceanic destruction is also causing marine food webs to collapse.
This may cause a bottom up crumbling impact that has second and third order impacts throughout the Earth. https://futurism.com/marine-food-webs-brink-collapse-because-climate-change

We can all take individual action to reduce our contributions to habitat and wildlife destruction, climate change, and cruelty by going vegan.

Donald Watson was well ahead of his time when he coined the term vegan in November of 1944. In doing so he started a movement that now may be our best hope at saving many precious species from going extinct, too. https://theecologist.org/2019/nov/01/we-can-save-precious-species-going-vegan
