Lucifer song analysis: a meta thread

For awhile I’ve wanted to do a thread analyzing the songs used in Lucifer. Idk if anyone else cares but the way the songs match the scenes really fascinates me so I’m going to post one song a day
Day 1: Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked by Cage the Elephant (1x01 Pilot)

This song is about how all humans sin and the singer tells of his experience coming across 3 sinners: a prostitute selling her body, a mugger robbing him at gunpoint, and a priest who robbed his church
You can understand this as Lucifer being the wicked one who doesn’t rest, but I see it as Lucifer observing the humans sinning. The humans are the wicked ones and they never rest so he needs to punish them
Actually, 1x01 has so many references to human’s obsession with money leading them to commit crimes. Lucifer pays off the cop who pulls him over, the hit man kills Delilah for money, Jimmy Barnes hires the hit man to kill Delilah for money
Remember Lucifer’s quote: “You humans love your money don’t you”

Lucifer isn’t human and doesn’t love money that way. He’s just an observer of humans wickedness and is the one who’s job is to punish those who are wicked.
Since there ain’t no rest for the wicked, there’s no rest for the punisher either
