Social justice, climate justice, all justice will only arrive through an unwavering commitment to non-violence, even (especially!) in the face of violence. It requires dedication. It takes courage not to retaliate.

Because if you speak out against violence, you will necessarily be met with violence. At first, emotional violence: "you're crazy / you're wrong / you're unqualified / you're alone"

When that doesn't work they try political violence: scandals, discrediting, smear campaigns. The kind of thing @XRebellionUK have come up against.

When that doesn't work, the last resort is always physical violence. Tanks roll in, the military arrive to restore 'order', first shots are fired. Only a non-violent response will gain public support for the cause. Anything less justifies the military presence.
