Ok lately I have been seeing a lot of debate on whether the Browns should either add a dome or build a new stadium with a dome or retractable roof. I personally prefer an open air stadium, funny I never hear Buckeye or Bengals fans bitch about it and i get it they don't have the
wind Cleveland does. The biggest arguement is that the Stadium could be used for more events like concerts, wrestlemania, college football championships. So I decided to look into it a little bit. AT&T stadium, Cowboys stadium which has a dome has 4 non- NFL Football events
scheduled. Met lif stadium, just outside of Jersey, home to the Jets and Giants, and an open air stadium also has 4 events scheduled. So.i wonder why does the Browns stadium sit empty during the summer months when an even could easily be held in an open air stadium like met life?
The only answer I could think of is that the people who would rent out the stadium: music artists, wrestling, and the like must not think they could sell enough tickets to offset the cost of using the stadium. That would not change with a dome. As for the college championship
Games, one of the biggest reasons the Big 10 holds theirs in Indy isn't just because of the dome, as Minnesota also has a dome and they don't play there, is because of the centralized location to the big 10 schools. This tells me that it is not cost effective to add a dome.
As for it giving the Browns a competitive advantage well honestly it should when hosting teams who normally play in a dome or in fair weather stadiums that rarely battle the elements, I mean there is a reason why teams from the package 10 and SEC refuse to play on Big 10 country
past october. The fact that a dome team from Vegas beat us playing our version of football says more about us than them because if you think we can beat them in a domed or fair weather environment when we couldn't beat them running the ball as we are built to do then I think you
are sorely mistaken. Plis all other AFC North teams play in open air stadiums and would put us at a severe disadvantage when playing in their stadiums amd make the playing field even more equal when they came to Cleveland. Point being if the Browns practice outside they should
be able to play the game outside effectively.
