The biggest con that the colonized elites of India play on the ordinary people is maintaining the pretense that their imposition of colonial ideas on others is stating the “objective” truth whereas everything they oppose is “ideology”.

So the badgering of an ordinary reader looking for Mahabharata based historical fiction recommendations on a popular reading Fb group by Creative Writing Professor that Mahabharata is “myth” and not “history” is justified as “stating the truth” and opposing “ideology”.

Even though he himself emerged out of nowhere, for absolutely no reason, to bully an ordinary individual about his own version of “truth”. When challenged by @AbhinavAgarwal, he decides that it has not been “established” that Mahabharata is history. Established by who?

When @AbhinavAgarwal highlighted that the dude is unqualified to decide which is truth and which is history and he is merely assigning authority to one opinion and taking it away from another, he states that he is “calling out ideology” by stating objective truths.

Who died and made him an arbiter of objective truths? Who decided that his favorite archealogist/historian is stating the “truth” and the archeologist/historian opposing his fav is “ideologically motivated”?

If you dig further, these arguments will start claiming that his favorite prof/historian/archeologist is right because his work is approved by “international authors” which would be code for the white man/woman.

This is exactly why decolonization is so important. People have been mentally conditioned to assume that a white man’s stamp is the ultimate authority of truth and objectivity and then these brown people themselves start acting as enforcers of coloniality. Call this out!
