🔟 Then … be about you
1/ Be active

Commit yourself to a reasonable and disciplined schedule. Start with one platform and put ~15 minutes on your calendar every day to post something (anything).

Use the remaining steps as inspirational jumping-off points. https://twitter.com/AaronOrendorff/status/1329592663197196294
2/ Be social (i.e., ABC: always be commenting)

Make a list of 15+ people you admire and want to connect with. Blaze through it every day liking everything. Pick one to RT. Every third day, write at least one comment, question, or glowing encouragement.

3/ Be questioning

People f****** love questions. Don’t worry if nobody responds at first. Ask at least one question a week — from what you’re struggling with to what you’re curious about. Resist the temptation to answer; leave the “loop open.” https://twitter.com/tobydoyhowell/status/1317554196523208704
4/ Be sharing … other people’s stuff

Take your list and sign up for every email newsletter they run. Create a folder and — pro tip — make a filter to send those emails directly to it.

Once a week (or more if you ever come up dry) share something from it and …
5/ Be “tagging”

Tag, tag, tag. @A_at_admission made fun of me … but she’s dead right. Do it relevantly — direct contributors, etc. Tag using images to save space. But always tag the author and anyone mentioned in an article or any piece of content you didn’t create.
6/ Be visual

Raw visuals — Sheets, dashboards, screenshots, phone recordings — are 🔥

Tools of the trade: @Snagit, @cloudapp, @sketch, Page Editor, and @loom. Note: horizontal images on Twitter (lest the best parts get cut off) and videos of any size: https://www.loom.com/share/53f0c5a9aab84bb9ad2132a38d947d25
7/ Be polarizing

Make a statement … worry about “defending” it later. But don’t be an asshole. https://twitter.com/mkobach/status/1257320562738622467
8/ Be nostalgic

Twitter Advanced Search should be your secret weapon. That’s how I found the above tweets. You can also use it to RT old but popular content from your list … or, rewrite those popular tweets (topics) in your voice, with your take.

9/ Be threading

Like this. I write mine out in a Doc first and paste them into a locked Twitter account — so I can post them to see how they look in the mobile feed.

But, do it your way. Whatever feels most natural to you. Social rewards authenticity.
10/ Then … be about you

Limit yourself to sharing wins and links to your own work. Aim for a 10:1 ratio — 10 shares not about you to every one tweet that’s selfish.

Remember: people connect with your failures far more than your successes.
