I’d actually love to know the exact wording and nature of the information the @premierleague is demanding from the consortium, presumably with regards to the PIF board in the #NUFCTakeover
Then I’d love to find out whether the entire boards of the City Football Group (Man City), Fosun International (Wolves), Fenway Sports Group (Liverpool) and others have also had all board members vetted, if that is indeed the request of the @premierleague of PIF
Looking at Wolves, Jeff Shi is ‘responsible for Fosun Group to initiate and lead the investment into Wolves’.

First, how is this any different to Al Rumayyan doing the same for PIF?

Second, have the @premierleague requested the 12 members of the Fosun board to pass the tests?
PL can’t use PIF being a State investment fund as an exclusion factor as a) it’s not listed under Section F of the O&D tests as an exclusion factor, b) PIF are allowed to invest in private companies across the world, c) UEFA are ‘relaxed’ about state-linked investments in clubs.
In fact there’s not much I can see under Section F that would prevent PIF involvement as it’s not written with this scenario in mind and, as such, is not an exclusion factor. The @premierleague appear to be applying the checks in a subjective rather than objective manner.
Seems to me that the @premierleague are prevaricating over a specific issue regarding who’s involved in the ownership.

If that’s so, they have to prove they’ve applied this to all corporate ownership of clubs.

If they can’t, they surely haven’t got much of a case against it.
The #nufc legal case appears to me to be about dragging it out into the open and exposing these possible issues with their interpretation as flawed and agenda-driven.

Do the @premierleague really want that? 🤔
