/6 By employing an AT, schools, companies and organizations provide students, employees and patients with access to a health care professional who can reduce the risk of injury, enhance wellness and improve health care outcomes.
/6 We applaud each organization that has taken a step toward prioritizing your populations’ health by employing an AT. But investing in health and safety can’t stop there.
/6 NATA advocates that all ATs are paid appropriately for their role as a health care professional, that there is organizational respect for work-life balance and that the AT’s professional development is supported and prioritized.
/6 In the midst of a global pandemic, ATs are forging paths and navigating uncharted waters. Ensuring they have breaks throughout their days, weeks, months and seasons is critical to their personal well-being and, in turn, ability to provide top-level care for patients.
/6 Investing in your AT’s professional development, whether it’s for their professional association membership or attending an educational session, is paramount today to ensure they have access to the latest resources, support and information related to COVID-19.
/6 In honor of @NATA1950 Member Appreciation Week, we ask all employers to assess if you are supporting your ATs in these important ways. If you have questions about appropriate pay, how to establish work-life balance friendly policies or membership for your ATs, please DM us.
