Mental health is clearly badly affected by lockdowns. The answer though is not to stop having lockdowns - they are the only weapon against covid at the moment - but to increase mental health provision in this country. Sadly, the government currently cba to.

Nadine Dorries actually stood up in the commons recently and said that if anything, many people’s MH had been *improved* by the pandemic, because they didn’t have to commute any more. Yes, really.
I’m so pissed about it that I have written tomorrow’s @telegraph column about it.
Quite a few people don’t have to commute any more because... they’ve lost their jobs. Famously good for your mental health 😳
