It is similar to the gambling industry where operators like Draftkings etc buy market share with heavy promos and marketing, but they loyalty of the cohorts is often much less sticky than the companies communicate to their shareholders, the moment the growth stops it hurts
And its like a drug, they have to keep buying market share at heavy losses with free vouchers and free delivery in order to show a growth story to investors in order to raise more and more money, the moment they stop reality kicks in
