In less than an hour it will be illegal to leave your council area, so here’s a fun treat for all you Ridiculous Council Boundary fans. These are all within Glasgow Provan constituency, but I’m sure there are more.
1) This stupid little bit of Stepps/Cardowan. To stay within the GCC boundary, you would have to walk through the Seven Lochs Wetland Park which doesn’t have paths, to get to a shop.
2) This little bit of Millerston will be glad the new train station can keep them connected to GCC on foot because drive out of your street and you’re in North Lanarkshire.
3) these 4 tiny cul-de-sacs in Auchinairn are in East Dunbartonshire despite the rest of the development being in GCC. Utterly bonkers 🙃
Please delight me by responding with your own boundary anomalies. I’m certain there’s one in South Gloucestershire that made me actually want to sob on a canvassing session in Kingswood , maybe Emerson’s Green?
