An unpopular take that shouldn’t be: evangelism isn’t anti-Semitic or a hate crime. It is simply the act of telling someone what Christians believe and pleading that they trust in Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Evangelism is exactly what each and every person around the 1/
world does every day on virtually every subject. It is discussing a subject with a person and attempting to convince them you are right. We do this all day, every day with sports, news, politics, movies, favorite cars, clothes, electronics brands, etc. There is almost never 2/
a conversation in which we do not try to convince each other one of us is right and the other is wrong. We are always seeking to convince others to abandon their belief on an issue and accept our own. In fact, some of the most ardent practitioners of those are those within 3/
the “tolerance” crowd who demand people cease seeking to convert others thinking and just accept people as they are. They violate their own argument by demanding conversion to their way of thinking. This is just an inescapable truth, where there are people, there are diversity 4/
of beliefs, and where such diversity exists, people will seek to convert each other to their own beliefs. This is logical, rational and good. It means we are a thinking people. That we can hold beliefs, form arguments regarding those beliefs, and defend those beliefs. It also 5/
means we are capable of thinking thru competing dogmas, consider and weigh the differences, and decided if the competition should be accepted or rejected. It is a dull-witted and thoughtless people who say we cannot or should not be willing to think about competing 6/
ideas. The simple truth is, we all accept the idea of seeking to convert each other to our own beliefs. Even the “Christian evangelism is a hate crime!” people want to convert you to their thinking. The reality is, they don’t care about other conversion conversations, what 7/
they hate is Christianity. They hate the God who made them, who will judge them, and commands them to repent and turn to Christ for the forgiveness of sins. They hate the exclusivity of the gospel message. They hate believing they are not good in and of themselves. They hate 8/
that Christ is their only means of salvation. They hate they have to abandon their own self-righteousness and so called “goodness.” So, it’s not evangelistic conversations they hate. It’s Christ and Christianity they hate. So they will turn to the most illogical and 9/
irrational arguments to turn the crowds to their favor and shut Christian evangelism down. And that is exactly what is happening today. Not surprising at all. So take heart brethren and trust in the gospel of Christ. Go forth and make disciples. End/
