I long for the day when my trans siblings are safe to live their lives as the beautiful people they are. Sadly, we have seen more violent deaths in the trans community this year than in any other year. Trans women of color make up a majority of these deaths.
We, especially those in the LGBTQIA community, MUST STAND UP AND PROTECT OUR TRANS FAMILY. We must hold our elected officials accountable to protect our trans family. And today, I’m lighting a candle and reading the names of those who we’ve lost this year.
I hope you’ll do the same. Yunieski Carey Herrera, Angel Unique,
