Today I would like to educate you about how harmful it is to imply sex is a spectrum and what exactly that means for people who are born with VSCs, or known as #intersex. For sake of simplicity, I will use intersex in my further posts.
This is a graph of what was conceptualized as biological sex being on a bimodal spectrum or classification means. It is a graph often thrown while using the experience of those #intersex to claim sex is not binary and therefore transphobes should "shut up." It uses us as tools.
Not only does this show that the gender argument may not be as infallible or perfect as the general public thinks but it shows that they are not above using a minority group smaller then their own, their memes and images involving us stress this.. like this harmful image.
Although the above graphic has truth in it, it twists it to fit a transgender viewpoint and narrative. This does not help #intersex people, this actually hurts them which again I will go into a bit later, why that is.
Here's a modified form of the "bimodal distribution" to stress my initial point. Not the cleanest edit, but it gets the point across.

You are openly admitting that #intersex people are more male, or more female.. lesser females, lesser males! You've successfully put us back to step 1970s in terms of treatment! You're implying #intersex bodies are wrong and should be celebrated as wrong, or need "fixed"
Not only does this put excessive pressure on #intersex people themselves to conform to being "normal" or accept the fact they're othered. This is why there's an increasing amount of pressure on intersex youth to identify out of their observed sex. Because who wants to be lesser?
By implying sex is a bimodal spectrum you are implying that intersex people are in that area between the two peaks and that implies that they're more male-like, or more female-like which is so freaking dehumanizing it isn't funny.
It is true that we can't know what gametes one's body is meant to support at all times but it is the most solid basis for one's biological sex that doesn't imply someone who doesn't follow femininity is a man, or more of a man then someone who performs femininity.
Generally speaking what some of us want is that we want the idea of female and male to be broadened to include us and our varying conditions that still fit among the template of biological sex. An intersex female isn't less of a female, like an intersex male isn't MORE female.
#intersex people are not a third, fourth, fifth or whatever sex. Sex is not a bimodal spectrum, we still have bodies that support large or small gametes and yes that includes infertile people because their bodies STILL support a gamete.
I'm an intersex female with both 46 XY SRY deleted cells and 46 XX cells in my body. Yet I am female for what reason? It's because my body supports and not to mention carries ova, or large gametes. I am -NOT- a lesser female, or an "it" like I've been called my entire life.
This stigma is what pressures #intersex kids to transition, to desire cosmetic surgeries to fix themselves or desperately finding ways to justify who they are. You aren't sending a positive message at all, you're sending the exact message scientists in the 1970s would APPLAUD AT
Stop treating #intersex people like a circus act, we are not some sideshow for you to marvel at and comment about... or OBSESS about. We are males, females.. men, women and some identify as non-binary much like YOU. We are #notyourprop.
Most importantly we do not PROVE YOUR ARGUMENTS! We do not prove that a trans woman is a woman, or that non binary people exist. That has to do with gender, not sex and our complicated conditions that come with many and I do mean MANY complications and health risks.
De-medicalizing #intersex would harm us, what should be stopped is cosmetic surgeries that tells intersex males and females that their bodies are wrong and need fixing. That chromosomes do not end all arguments. So get with the program and stop using us as a tool in your argument
