"Hinduism can be saved if we reformed it and made it in sync with time."

Who is 'We' here?
Is 'We' an ordinary devotee who knows little to nothing about the nuances of the traditions (yajmaan) or is 'We' the one without whose guidance the traditions and rituals are hard or even impossible to practice or to perform (purohit)?
If 'We' is the former then he does not have any right to dictate about the reforms because he is just a follower/practitioner and not an authority over the things he wants to reform.
The examiner decides the syllabus and you abide by that.

You don't go to exams by studying half the syllabus and half other things and still want to be listed among the toppers by saying you need 'reforms' in the syllabus and exam pattern.
It is entirely up to the examiner to cut the syllabus to half or to double it.
Yes, Hinduism has evolved with time but its evolution has always been purely organic i.e. from the inside.

Like evolution within its structure from purely Vedic structure to Puranic structure with Vedas still as the base (implying evolution without compromising the permanence).
When people, who have no 'skin in the game', vouch for reforms, they are basically opening doors for alien invasion into your home.
Besides, all this, this is Kaliyug. When there is a need to maintain as puritanical form of your identity as you can, you are kanging for reforms just to find yourself more in common with your civilizational enemies than with fellow Hindus.
If Hinduism falls before the arrival of Lord Kalki, only Hindus will be at fault.
