Ash talks over Jews to serve her own goals. The first para shows she’s a tawdry thinker: “AS does not claim colonialism as its origin story.” The multi-dimensional abuse experienced by Jews in the diaspora is a product of Imperial Rome having colonialised Judea & displaced us 1/ https://twitter.com/ayocaesar/status/1329425753461682176
Ash continues her lightweight thinking - like she got her reasoning from a Christmas cracker. Anti-Black/muslim racism should be dealt with instantly. But it’s mischief to imply that by contrast AS is dealt with urgently when FIVE YEARS LATER Labour is still mired in this shit 2/
...and an independent body has had to literally come in and unpack the unlawful, anti-Jewish discrimination that took place in a Labour party that could not and would not deal with its antisemitism disgrace... 3/
Many Jews are tired of leftwing zealots like Owen Jones (who tried to change the Wikipedia definition of Jews) & Ash (who praised the actions of someone who desecrated a Holocaust site) speaking like they’re an authority on Jews & antisemitism & invited onto TV to do so 4/
At best they come across as creepy, oppressive and dodgy when they talk about Jews and antisemitism - mostly with an eye on laundering the antisemitic movement of Corbynism 4/
I’d like all kinds of racism to be extracted from all parties. Jones & Sarkar however set their stall with a movement that Britain’s Jews have earnestly & resoundingly pleaded to be understood for its antisemitism. It is absurd to claim that at any point have they been allies
In fact they have been the opposite. They have been active participants in helping steer and protect a movement responsible for the ugliest post war antisemitism British Jews have experienced - and continue to suffer from.
