The end of Evangelion is so powerfull. It shows us how a depressed teenage boy decides it’s worth living. It tells people to stop relying on escapism and external validation, and try to face reality no matter how fucked up it may be. It’s very much a story about Anno’s depression
2. And that’s what makes it feel so genuine and engaging. It might be the most direct ending ever, but it’s very touching to anyone who has dealt with similar issues. Hell, maybe it’s so touching because its so direct, it wants the viewer to face reality as well after all.

4. Even if I would’ve hated the show, it would still be in my mind. It’s a controversial show in terms of reception, but the reason people keep discussing it over and over is probably because it sticks with them, wether in a positive or negative way
