It’s often a misunderstanding that Romelu Lukaku doesn’t perform in big games so here is a little thread on why that’s complete bullshit
1. In 2009/10 he played in the Europa league for Anderlecht getting 5 G/A in the 4 KO games, playing an important role for the team. He was 16 years old at this point
2. His first real season in the prem in 2012/13 playing for West Brom. Big Rom scored goals against Liverpool and a famous hattrick against Man United in Fergie’s last ever game. Unforgettable scenes.
3. Now for Belgium, in 2013 Belgium played a deciding game against Croatia and had to win to qualify for the first World Cup in 12 years. Lukaku turned up and scored 2 goals in a 1-2 win.
4. At this World Cup Belgium had to play against the USA in the 1/16th finals. The game known for the Tim Howard masterclass in the end decided by Lukaku and KDB (both 1 goal and 1 assist).
5. Belgium-Ireland at the Euros 2016, a must-win for Belgium if we wanted to progress to the next round. Ends in a 3-0 victory with a brace for big rom
6. Massive Jump in the future now. Belgium without Kdb, Hazard, Courtois and a bunch of defenders are playing against Iceland. A must win after losing against England earlier that week: Lukaku is captain and scores a brace singlehandedly winning us the game.
7. WC 2018, Lukaku mainly scored in the group stages but was so important against Japan and Brazil. The dummy against Japan for the last minute winner is pure art, the rush and assist for kdb’s winner against Brazil is insane. 
8. Belgium-Denmark, the winner goes to the Final Four of the Nations league, Lukaku with yet another brace in a 4-2 win. 
9. Inter in the Europa league KO stages: Lukaku scored in every single KO game making 7 goals in 6 games while also getting 2 assists.

10. Probably one of his most underrated performances against PSG. While rashford gets the headlines it’s Lukaku who plays the biggest role in United advancing with a brace again. So underrated 
Vs Gladbach.
Must win game for Inter because if they lose they’re eliminated from Europe. Lukaku stands up and scores the 2-1 and the 3-1 in a 3-2 win for Inter.
