66 new #COVID19 #Sweden deaths reported by Folkhälsomyndigheten today, taking the total to 6406

Oldest change was to March 19 (+1), largest +14 to Nov 17.

Cumulative deaths increasing quite quickly, we're still a bit early in this wave to judge how quickly as yet
This is the second time an addition to way back in March has occurred recently, including an additional new death on the very first day we had a death in Sweden, March 11, added on Nov 5. I find this curious.
I asked a journalist why Swedish journalists don't appear to find this curious.

They didn't respond. 🤷‍♂️

I'm still curious, both about the change, and the lack of curiosity, if anyone has a theory. I suspect they don't even know. Karlsten does now. https://twitter.com/DavidSteadson/status/1328741297566396420?s=20
I've extended the rolling 7-day average graph now back to the beginning of the pandemic in March. Long-time followers will note I've removed the legend! That's because every line represents the data as reported on a particular day, and we now have nearly 300 reporting days.
The line that ends furthest to the right is the most recent data. It is usually also the highest line - though can dip under when deaths are removed from the statistics for some reason.

The gap between lines represents reporting delays. Converging lines represents stability.
It is important to note that because of these reporting delays, the average *always* looks like it's plateauing or decreasing in recent days.
The raw data from FHM I am using for this graph did not start to be published until April, so the initial phases of wave 1 and 2 are not directly comparable, but as can be seen the average daily deaths is increasing rapidly.
I consider case data to be unreliable due to testing restrictions, and reports today of at least 1000 false negative reports in Stockholm region, averaging around a 40/day, though details are unclear. Nevertheless, cases continue to soar, with 7240 added today.
In Uppsala, where restrictions were first introduced, all tests submitted up to November 15 have now been analysed. For the 7 days until November 15 there were 1364 positives out of 9080 tests, (15%).In the previous 7 days there were 1170 positives out of 7638 tests (15.3%)
The pandemic in Region Uppsala clearly remains out of control. As of yesterday there were 100 covid patients with 17 in ICU. This compares to April peaks of 127 patients at 26 in ICU.

The existing restrictions are clearly not enough.
Sweden-wide, ICU has now reached at least 183 covid patients. This data tends to be delayed a few days, with delays worsening as patient load increases.
The Swedish Government still appears not to understand what is occurring. Bizarrely, yesterday a represent of Folkhälsomyndigheten indicated their objection to masks was partly one of equality - not everybody could afford them! https://twitter.com/BoardshortsBen/status/1329719837308891136?s=20
Sweden is currently treating Covid patients with Remdesivir. This costs approximately 20000kr per patient.

Region Uppsala alone has had over 1000 Covid patients and a population of 380000 people or over 50 kr/person spent on Remdesivir if all are treated.
