I'm glad to live in a country where we can say, this year, as last year, we have no names, as far as we know, add to the tragic roll call for Trans Day of Remembrance.

I wish this were the case around the world.
No one should face abuse, violence or discrimination for not conforming with the stereotypes associated with their sex.
I wrote this last year about Naomi Hersi who was brutally murdered in the UK in 2018. https://kareningalasmith.com/2019/07/
Since then, through @CountDeadWomen I've counted at least (and I say at least because there are more that are unconfirmed and doubtlessly more that I don't know about) 323 women killed by men.
I'll be naming all women killed by men in the UK since 25 November last year, on 25 November, the International day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on my account @CountDeadWomen
Also, on 25 November #IDEVAW, we @FemicideCensus will be releasing an incredible and heartbreaking and angry-making report on 10 years of men's fatal violence against women in the UK 2009-2018
I hope and wish that one day in my lifetime, I will be able to say, on #IDEVAW this year:
'I'm glad to live in a country where we can say, this year, as last year, we have no names, as far as we know, to add to the tragic roll of women killed by men.'

Just imagine that.
