We predicted Trumps win, we know that Latinos are diverse and not homogeneous because we have spent our careers reporting on Latinos. And pitching stories to our editors about the diversity of Latinos. So spare me the “we”. Instead do some self reflection.
Many of us predicted Trump’s rise and win because we know that racism has a strong appeal—even as our fellow (often white) journalists were reluctant to point out Trump’s bigotry. Even as many of you journalists giggled at his ‘wackiness’. So spare me the bs and do a better job.
