Language is fascinating. Our words reveal what is in our heart. (Lk. 6:45) It’s intriguing that people are still referring to certain areas as Trump country, not God country or Jesus country. There’s an interest in claiming an area for someone we feel loyalty towards.
These areas are seen as desirable places to live if you are a Trump supporter. Again, the interest is not to live in God country or Jesus country, but to live where people vote like me. Politics holds great sway over us. Some don’t want to live near anyone who votes differently.
To live in Jesus country would be more difficult because I may have neighbors who aren’t like me. I’d have to learn to get along with them. This is church. It’s the community we are called to if we are a Christian. It’s our spiritual family. We cannot kick out who we don’t like.
