You can date w/ reasonable safety, if you behave responsibly, take precautions *before* you date (like wearing a face-mask usually in public rooms, each person avoiding #COVID19 infection from others). There's always a risk, but if the two of you are sensible, you avoid most risk

Back when HIV was finally being brought under control, some gays deliberately chased getting infected, and got the monicker of "bug chasers". They had bareback hooking-up sites and so on. It was amazingly stupid, and of course put an extra burden on society.

If you go deliberately infect yourself or others, it's wider society who has to step in to clean up the mess. You have no moral right to be a Typhoid Mary, and it's not just you who pays the bill, it's all of us. Hospital treatments, medicines, burials; society pays.

If you don't like lockdowns, then GET SANE and promote #WearAMask , and other responsible behaviour. But for Toby Young's execrable "Lockdown Sceptics" site to promote mathematics illiteracy and anti-face-mask messages at the same time as dating, well that's just bug-chasers.
