Imma be honest, at first I didn't really like the OG Evangelion and EoE endings but I've really come to love them

When I first saw them I felt I was left a bit unfulfilled, but I've come to appreciate that both of the endings are great conclusions which serve as Shinji coming to love who he is and comes to understand that he isn't alone

As we know, these are great endings which go hand-in-hand with the symbolisms of the series. I feel Eva is all about mental health and depression and overcoming the obstacles in order to be happy and acknowledge who you are.

I think it's a series all about the path to self-love

Yes, there are the angels and the events that transpire throughout the series but I genuinely believe it's a tale of Shinji and the Eva pilots overcoming their internal struggles to be happier with who they are.
