To be clear, the point of my tweet is Sia is being fucking childish in the face of critique from a group she is telling a story about.
She may not agree with our perspective, but this is a childish way to respond to the community you're trying to tell a story about.

Here's an idea, how about casting a non verbal autistic person, and building enough accomodations into the shooting schedule to accomodate their needs, rather than going "we'll, they wouldn't be able to handle a regular movie shooting schedule, so let's not"
Having a reason why you've cast a non autisitic person to pantomime being non verbal autistic doesn't shield you from criticisms that it's shitty to watch a person play pretend at a disabiliy.
When autistic actors tweeted Sia to say "look, I am autistic, and would have been very caipable of acting in a film", sia's response was, and I quote "Maybe you're just a bad actor"
There's a now deleted tweet reply going around where Sia wanted praise for having three trans people and some disabled people in her film "not as fucking prostitutes or drug addicts, but as doctors, nurses, and singers".

When you're throwing around your minority casting choices elsewhere in the film as a shield to defend a bad casting call you made, that's not great.
