Dear @MehreenKhn From what I understand you are a serious and respected journalist. I would therefore encourage you to do a little bit of research on this so called “anti-racist” organisation. To point you towards the right direction and let’s just start with this
:

1. the statistics the CCIF has created on what they call “islamophobic acts” are questionable to say the least. It is a catch-all concept which allows them to count acts as being “islamophobic” when imams who have called for jihad are expelled, those who have called for the rape
of women or who have made anti-Semitic remarks are being prosecuted. Among those so called "victims of Islamophobia" supported by the CCIF for example is an organization called Ana Muslim, which was dissolved in June 2014
for “apology of terrorism”, knowing that at least one of its members was an open and clear supporter of ISIS.
2.I would therefore argue that it the CCIF’s objective is to create a moral confusion on what constitutes “islamophobia” which leads to the exaggeration of their “islamophobia” statistics, (neither the CFCM nor the ministry of Interior’s numbers match in any shape or form)
which allows them to create a feeling of permanent victimization and humiliation amongst certain Muslims, the objective being to separate them entirely from society and at the same time to instill fear amongst those in France willing to criticize islamism.
What happened notably with the involvement of the CCIF in the harassment of Samuel Paty, which ultimately led to his murder, is now no secret. Let’s also not forget that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the terrorist of the Bataclan attacks had all sorts of CCIF material on his phone.
3. The point that I am trying to make is that the CCIF has a clear political agenda, which is not the fight against anti-Muslim racism, which I would argue most anti racist organizations and institutions like the AJC, LICRA, UEJF, SOS Racism and also the DILCRAH defend.
4. This political agenda is also illustrated by their acquaintances. The CCIF has continuously been close to individuals who are problematic to say the least. A few names that you can easily research: Tariq and Hani Ramadan, Houria Bouteldja, Rachid Abou Houdeyfa, Abou Anas...
5. The leadership has made more than questionable statements for what you seem to call an anti-racist organisation. Following the attacks on the Jewish Museum in Brussels that killed 4 people for example the CCIF wrote a press release that is not only minimizing the attacks
but also had clear conspiratorial undertones: "A marginal act of violence serves as a pretext for implicating an entire community. ...] The suspect in the Brussels massacre was arrested "by chance" with the weapons used on him as well as a timely video confession".
6. And last but not least, when the president of the CCIF goes on Al Jazeera to speak about “state islamophobia” or when the CCIF is pointing out people as being “islamophobic”, it is reckless or worse, knowing what has happened to the journalists of Charlie Hebdo and Samuel Paty
7. Now, if as a journalist, you are interested in investigating, I would be very happy to point you towards sources, experts and research that might be of interest to you.
