5 ways you can support your musician friends...a thread...
1. Pre-save - If you have Spotify/Apple Music, you might be asked to pre-save their upcoming single. This costs nothing. If the platforms see that there’s a buzz about a new release, they are more likely to consider adding it to a playlist which can be a huge boost for the artist
2. Download their music - So, truth be told, the pre-saves are a great way to gain traction, however what your friend also really needs is to have a presence on their genre specific chart. This can be done by purchasing their single on iTunes on the day of release.
3. Share their music - Quite simply engaging with your friends posts about their music is also very important. Give them a retweet or a share, post an instastory of you singing along to it, use the track to create a dance on TikTok...anything! Just. Engage.
4. Conclusion - Pre-save their single in the weeks prior to release. Download the single on iTunes on the day of release. BUT, don’t listen to it on iTunes, stream the living hell out of it on Spotify to build up those all important numbers. Tell everyone you know to do the same.
