The airports are apparently very full as the CDC announced today not to travel for Thanksgiving. There seems to be a breakdown in the trust of public health officials and I am really puzzling over this. Because many traveling are not COVID19 deniers or people who think it a hoax
Travelers may have tested (with mistrust that a public health official can say one day that testing is important and the next day that it means nothing so don't test your way home) or planning on masking, distancing, ventilation but seeing family. .but either way
seeming distrust. Wonder how to reset this? I am not sure. Maybe just acknowledging before issuing recommendations or mandates that this is really hard and that no one has ill intent in wanting to see others (e.g. saying you may kill your parents by going does not acknowledge
loneliness or the tenderness of human emotion that may be leading to "sneaking away to see family". I am thinking of this hard while I mask, ventilate, distance, wash my hands!
