I will definitely vote for INC, as will most anti-BJP peeps.

And as a common voter, this is my personal opinion.

What INC is doing right now is just bare minimum as an opposition party. In order to fight a powerful Hindutva propaganda, INC needs to do much more.
Yes, INC leaders are visiting victims’ houses and everything - again - that’s expected. We are facing an extraordinary crisis. To counter that, the opposition also needs to find extraordinary means to stand up to the fascists.
1. Citizen-focused communication is something BJP has mastered at. Other national parties haven’t completely grasped this yet.
2. Shifting BJP’s voter base cannot be done by pandering to the majority. In AAP’s case it is fine coz AAP has a clean record with clear results.
INC’s image right now is “the corrupt” party in people’s minds. Only grassroots work can change this. Involving with activists & NGOs, being sincere in these efforts and marketing that is important to gain the voters’ trust back.
For me to talk to ten more voters and convince them, I need to show them the work INC did, is doing and will do. May be INC is already doing it and IF they are, the fact that people don’t know about this means point 1, no effective communication.
I’m not a big expert in political science and voter base calculations. These are my observations as a common voter. If there are any sources that I’m unaware of where more updates are being shared, please do point me towards them.
But remember one thing. Don’t expect the voter to know what INC is doing. No one went to BJP’s website & learnt about their agenda. BJP took the food to people’s mouth. That’s what INC needs to do better. And showing up before elections is not enough. Grassroots work EVERYDAY!
