In 1878, James Whistler sued critic John Ruskin for libel b/c of a review of Whistler's painting "Nocturne in Black and Gold - The Falling Rocket".

Ruskin reviewed it badly saying it was too much money for just flinging paint at the canvas. In court Whistler was asked whether he could ask for such a high figure for what probably took 2 days to paint.

Whistler replied "No, I ask it for the knowledge of a lifetime."

The point is DJ...you are worth every penny given you. You have lived a life no one else has. Every bit of what has happened to you...good AND horrible...is what makes you the amazing person you are today. A Gutter Bumpkin gumbo, if you will.

THAT is why every joke...every off topic derailment...every thought...is uniquely and undeniably YOURS. Because of your life. Because of your hurdles. Because you have lived your life and didn't quit and came out of the fire better than any of us could hope to.

And trust me...I KNOW what it's like to undervalue your artistic worth. I still do it. I'm working on it. Just know that literally all of us think you are MORE than worth it. You have paid the dues, baby. Time to collect what's due YOU.
