Cities in sci-fi stories are always named shit like "Central City" and "The Capital" while in real life cities are named shit like Leroystown after Leroy Fort, a fort that used to exist nearby named after an obscure general who never actually visited it.

My first lesson for anyone constructing a fictional universe: Real place names are weird and usually are completely unrelated to what the area is actually known for.
Paris's nightlife neighborhood is named after an 18th century sculptor. London's is named after a judge who did landmark work on copyright. Berlin's is named after a hill that used to exist there back when it was a rural area. This is how place names actually work
