Finally made it through the Merlo Davidson Final Report. I was sick waiting for it and was shaking while I read most of it. In the following thread I will share some points buried in the document that haven't been highlighted in the news today.
"Sexual assaults when members are out of town... were frequent". Travel was common in my position. At times I hid in my room. I made sure I was not followed to my room. I tried to make sure they didn't even know what room I was in. The efforts that go into managing your safety.
The sexualization extended beyond employees. Hours were spent ranking the appearance of general public. Members only wanted to interview good looking witnesses. Asking how a murder victim looked from the naked selfies on her phone.
These stalking behaviors happen on your work phone while you are on call. There is no ability to turn it off or block a number. You're completely subjected to whatever drivel or harrassment they want to send you.
I wouldn't even workout at the office gym because of the inevitable attention in that attire. There were women that had surgery and permanently altered their bodies to avoid this attention!
I see comments from members all the time about how it's not 30 years ago and things have improved. Read the report, same stories from the mid 70s as the last 5 years. I even experienced it up to my last day in office in late 2018.
