Spent some time in the Growth in Diversity lounge (press Forward to get to the post-it covered boards of thought) and I have mixed feelings about it 1/n
I love that there's an anonymous (read: safe) space to be honest about experiences, but is that anonymity also hurting us at all? Are those in power reading the statements with the same regard as if it was someone saying it to their faces? 2/n
It's also disheartening to be reminded that after being here for a decade (and I'm still relatively new to the field compared to others) that nothing has changed. The same BS that I encountered as an applicant and as a student continue today 3/n
I wonder how many attendees are actually going to this part of the virtual platform. Should we have put a gnome in there to draw in more traffic? It's still POC doing all the heavy lifting and I wouldn't be surprised if many white women choose to ignore this space /end #NSGC20
