Just in case it is newsworthy, I can attempt to tweet some explainers for English speakers regarding: why Japan's conservative/rightwing spectrum is in the grip of pro-Trump fever right now. There are several contributing factors. Maybe other English speakers can chime in.
One running theory goes that: PM Abe's surprise step-down without fulfilling his campaign promise of constitutional referendum concerning rearmament, compounded with other conservative losses, has created panic among conservatives - i.e. they are in denial.
Trump winning the election after all will restore the magic of conservatism in Japan. How the dots connect is a bit sketchy, but these discrepancies are compensated for with Doomsday rhetoric. If Trump doesn't win, Japan will be taken over by China, etc.
There is also the matter of QAnon catching on in some corners of Japan like wildfire, which is as of yet a mystery. Of course, it could simply be that one by one, Japanese are waking up to Q's "truth". But there may also be other explanations.
Since these and other micro-details do not appear in Western media, me and my crew (also my detractors fluent in English) may be able to fill in those nooks and crannies. Have a nice day, all!

Oh yes, I also have to note that there has been a fairly strong rebuke of #BlackLivesMatter in Japan. Several pundits have expressed their antipathy, citing violence at BLM protests.
