There's no ethical consumption under capitalism and my tiny little brain is so exhausted that it is not letting me focus on the shit that I actually need to finish, so it's time for a thread about things I've bought that I've liked, which I haven't done in a bazillion years.
I have really enjoyed the coffee that I have made with this little one-cup press. It packs down perfectly for camping, too (tho cleaning it well requires a decent amount of water): https://food52.com/shop/products/5330-collapsible-coffee-press
I did the Trade coffee subscription for a bit so I could find some new favorites. Big fan of Highwire's batak/sumatra ( https://www.highwirecoffee.com/collections/coffee/products/batak-sumatra) and everything from Blueprint ( https://blueprintcoffee.com/store/ ).
In Cleveland, I scooped up some Duckbunny ( https://www.duckrabbitcoffee.com/shop ), probably my favorite there!, to bring home. I also got to try many a pastry from Leavened; the cardamom buns are real ones. I also obviously bought the Ohio City Dave's out of Rhinegeist Bubbles.
Closer to home, I am really liking Máquina coffee ( https://www.maquinacoffee.com/coffee ), which is roasted somewhere in Pennsylvania but is sold at Each Peach, where I am also very susceptible to all the fancy chocolate they've moved right by the front door ( https://www.fruitionchocolateworks.com/ ).
Have added some staple wines lately. I have loved Field Recordings for years and years and years; Freddo is supremely fun ( https://fieldrecordingswine.vinespring.site/#/purchase/item/prod_5ef6541bcaf0d60008e598d7). You can do Litro Bianco all day and feel good about yourself ( https://domestiquewine.com/products/litro-bianco-nv)?
My go-to for functional, but really nice home goods, particularly kitchen stuff, is Food52. I didn't know I needed this set of silicone lids until I saw them, and then was, like, holy shit, these mean I don't have to slowly replace all my lidless pots. https://food52.com/shop/products/6367-five-two-airtight-silicone-lids
Hard recommend these coasters from Graf Lantz, am planning to buy another set: https://graf-lantz.com/collections/coasters
Strangeways is one of my favorite swag/accessory shops. I bought the "no rent in hell" patch ( https://www.strange-ways.com/products/no-rent-in-hell-patch) at the beginning of the pandemic, lol, and later bought a jar into which to place my feelings*: https://www.strange-ways.com/products/bottled-up-feelings-ceramic-jar?variant=31476882866256¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2019-08-01&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=CjwKCAiAzNj9BRBDEiwAPsL0d1QhNhucI1pUv0ARTk8xrZknVg91YIebT2Jy12dStCVlzud2KfU6bxoC9T0QAvD_BwE
