Maybe your response should be ‘what if this was ISIS’ and instead be, ‘what if we didn’t write this piece’. I say this as a guy who passed on multiple times to write about a ISIS supporter w/ grand plans but no ability to follow through. We can do better
The real question you should ask is this: could you envision a scenario where 12 ISIS guys in Michigan could talk about killing a governor with only one of them being a FBI informant? The answer is no. Then work your way back from why that is (material support, etc)
